Congratulations to Audra McDonald, who as been nominated for an Emmy Award for her performance in the ABC-TV version of A Raisin in the Sun. Audra received a Tony Award (her fourth) for the 2004 Broadway stage revival of the seminal 1959 play by Lorraine Hansberry.

Congratulations to Audra McDonald, who as been nominated by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences for an Emmy Award for her performance as Ruth Younger in the ABC-TV version of A Raisin in the Sun; she has been nominated in the category of Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Miniseries or a Movie. Audra received a Tony Award (her fourth) for the 2004 Broadway stage revival of the seminal 1959 play by Lorraine Hansberry.

Phylicia Rashad, Audra's co-star in both the film and the play, was also nominated for an Emmy, in the lead actress category. The ABC-TV film has been nominated as Outstanding Made for Television Movie.

The 60th annual Primetime Emmy Awards will be broadcast live on ABC on Sunday, September 21.

    Congratulations to Kronos Quartet, whose acclaimed 1992 Nonesuch album Pieces of Africa has been named one of twenty-five recordings to be inducted into the National Recording Registry at the Library of Congress for 2024. "It planted a seed for our work," Kronos founder and violinist David Harrington says of the album. "It's flowered so beautifully."
