Carnegie Hall has announced its 2013–14 season, and featured among the performers taking the esteemed hall's stages are a number of artists familiar to readers of the Nonesuch Journal, including Chris Thile, Bombino, Kronos Quartet, Natalie Merchant, and Richard Goode, as well as performances of works by John Adams, Steve Reich, and more.

Mandolinist Chris Thile opens Carnegie Hall's Off the Beaten Track series with a performance in Zankel Hall on Tuesday, October 22, 2013. On the program, Thile performs solo violin works by J. S. Bach, as well as his own compositions and other material.

Also in Zankel Hall, Tuareg guitarist and singer Omara “Bombino” Moctar performs a late-night concert on Friday night, December 6, 2013, as part of the World Views series. Bombino makes his Nonesuch debut with the release of his new album, produced by The Black Keys' Dan Auerbach, this spring.

Also performing in the Off the Beaten Track series is Kronos Quartet, which celebrates its 40th anniversary with a concert in Stern Auditorium on Friday, March 28, 2014. The program includes New York premieres by Philip Glass and John Adams, plus works by Terry Riley, Laurie Anderson, and others. The group is set to be joined by special guest artists still to be announced. The concert is also part of the Signatures series.

On the afternoon of Saturday, April 26, 2014, Natalie Merchant will give a concert focused on her younger fans, when she performs in Stern Auditorium as part of the beloved Carnegie Hall Family Concert program. Natalie Merchant recently teamed up with award-winning children's book illustrator Barbara McClintock for a new picture book based on Leave Your Sleep, Merchant's album of classic children's poetry adapted to music.

Later that spring, Stern Auditorium will see a return visit from pianist Richard Goode, who will offer a recital of works by Janácek, Schubert, and Debussy on May 1, 2014, as part of the Great Artists II series.

In addition to the new work by John Adams on the Kronos program, the composer's 1992 Chamber Symphony will be performed by Ensemble ACJW in Zankel Hall on May 10, 2014, as part of the Fast Forward series. The young professional musicians of Ensemble ACJW are fellows of The Academy who perform inventive programs of chamber favorites, contemporary new works, and commissions. The group, led by conductor David Robertson, will also perform Steve Reich's 1995 piece City Life in a Zankel Hall concert on Saturday, December 14, 2013, as part of the Chamber Sessions I series.

Steve Reich's 1983 piece Eight Lines is on the program for American Composers Orchestra's concert in Zankel Hall on Thursday, February 20, 2014. And John Adams's 1996 piece Slonimsky's Earbox is on the program for the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra's concert in Stern Auditorium on May 16, 2014, which will also include works by Berlioz and Richard Strauss as part of International Festival of Orchestras I series.
