Carolina Chocolate Drops, who gave a pair of rapturously received sold-out shows in Glasgow and London at the start of the year, are bringing their exhilarating live show back to the UK and to Ireland, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Germany as part of a European tour that kicks off with two shows in Ireland: at Roisin Dubh in Galway this Sunday and Whelan's in Dublin on Monday. The UK leg of the tour opens with a show at London’s Shepherd's Bush Empire on Tuesday, followed by dates in Leeds and Gateshead.
The tour closes out at the end of the month with three special shows in Germany, for which Carolina Chocolate Drops share a bill with Nonesuch label mates Punch Brothers: MTC Club in Köln on the 22nd, Lido in Berlin on the 23rd, and Knust in Hamburg on the 24th. David Wax Museum supports on most other dates on the tour.
Carolina Chocolate Drops resume their tour of the United States next month, following a spot on the Legendary Rhythm and Blues Cruise, which departs from San Juan, Puerto Rico, on October 27.

Leaving Eden, the Carolina Chocolate Drops' follow up their Grammy Award–winning label debut Genuine Negro Jig, was released earlier this year on Nonesuch Records. Produced by Buddy Miller (Emmylou Harris, Robert Plant, Patty Griffin, Solomon Burke), the record comprises original compositions, covers and traditional songs. The Observer calls them "the most electrifying acoustic act around." The BBC says of the new album: "It's plain terrific."
