Celebrate Brooklyn!—one of New York City's longest-running free, outdoor performing arts festivals—has announced the complete line-up for this summer's concert series in in Brooklyn's Prospect Park. Among the featured performers this year are Allen Toussaint, The Low Anthem, and the Orquesta Buena Vista Social Club, featuring Omara Portuondo.
 
Allen Toussaint, who played for a hometown crowd at New Orleans' Jazz Fest this past weekend, will take the Prospect Park Bandshell stage on June 12 in the first show to follow the season's June 9 Opening Night Gala with Norah Jones. Also on the bill with Toussaint is fellow New Orleans pianist Davell Crawford.

On June 24, Omara Portuondo, the unforgettable female voice of the original Buena Vista Social Club, will perform with Orquesta Buena Vista Social Club, featuring both new musicians and veterans of the original group, like trumpeter Guajiro Mirabal and laoud virtuoso Barbarito Torres. Portuondo and the Orquesta have two additional dates planned for the United States that week, at the Ravinia Festival outside Chicago and at the Hollywood Bowl, for a decidedly eclectic double bill with Goldfrapp.

The following month at Celebrate Brooklyn!, The Low Anthem will share a double bill with The Swell Season, featuring Glen Hansard of The Frames and Czech pianist and singer Market Irglova, both featured in the Oscar-winning film Once. The July 30 concert is one of just a few scheduled live shows in the States from The Low Anthem this summer, as the band puts the finishing touches on the forthcoming follow up to its Nonesuch debut album, Oh My God, Charlie Darwin. The very next day, the Rhode Island-based quartet returns to its home state to play the Newport Folk Festival.
