Emmylou Harris brings her North American summer tour to NYC for a special performance, in which she joins the Levon Helm Band for a concert in Central Park to benefit SummerStage. Emmylou Harris brings her North American summer tour to New York City for a special performance, in which she joins the legendary Levon Helm Band for a concert in Central Park to benefit SummerStage. Harris will perform songs from her latest Nonesuch release, Hard Bargain, as well as favorites from throughout her storied career. The new album's opening track, "The Road," which Harris wrote about her friendship with Gram Parsons, is the Free MP3 of the Day today at MP3.com.

While in New York City, Harris will stop by the NBC studios in Rockefeller Center to perform on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. Tune in tomorrow, Tuesday, July 19, to see Harris and her band perform a song from the new record. The show airs at 12:35 AM ET on NBC.

The New York Times, recommending tonight's SummerStage show, calls Harris "the reigning queen of smart, fluent Americana." The Wall Street Journal, previewing tonight's concert, says Harris has "a beautifully weathered voice that goes back to romanticized old Nashville and as much grace and poise as any singer ever."
