Emmylou Harris will perform at The Kennedy Center in Washington, DC, tonight as part of 9/11: 10 Years Later, a special event to commemorate the tenth anniversary of the September 11 attacks; it will stream live online at facebook.com/KennedyCenter starting at 7:30 PM ET. The event will be hosted by Christiane Amanpour and also includes performances by Denyce Graves, Wynton Marsalis, Raúl Esparza, and the National Symphony Orchestra, along with commemorative remarks and readings by Colin Powell, Condoleezza Rice, Madeleine Albright, and others.

The event, presented by The Kennedy Center and The New Republic magazine, will be streaming live online starting at 7:30 PM ET at facebook.com/KennedyCenter, where viewers are invited to share their memories and reflections as well.

In addition to a performance by Harris, this evening's tribute concert, hosted by Christiane Amanpour, also includes performances by Denyce Graves, Wynton Marsalis, Raúl Esparza, and the National Symphony Orchestra conducted by John Mauceri.     Congratulations to Kronos Quartet, whose acclaimed 1992 Nonesuch album Pieces of Africa has been named one of twenty-five recordings to be inducted into the National Recording Registry at the Library of Congress for 2024. "It planted a seed for our work," Kronos founder and violinist David Harrington says of the album. "It's flowered so beautifully."
