The Magnetic Fields' 50 Song Memoir album is out, the tour is on, and we're giving away a copy of the 5-LP vinyl set and a life-sized Stephin Merritt standee! For your chance to win: 1. Visit the merch table at any stop on the US tour. 2. Take a selfie with the cardboard Stephin standee standing there. 3. Post the pic to Instagram, Twitter, or Facebook with the hashtag #StephinStandee. Can't make it to a show? Tour not coming to your town? The Magnetic Fields' 50 Song Memoir tour is on. Having stopped for two nights each in Washington, DC, and Philadelphia last week, the tour heads next to the Carolina Theatre in Durham today and Wednesday. Given that the 50 Song Memoir album and tour chronicle the 50 years of songwriter Stephin Merritt's life with one song per year, we thought you might like to take home even more Merritt, so we're giving away both a copy of the 5-LP vinyl set and a life-sized Stephin Merritt standee!

For your chance to win, simply follow these three easy steps:

1. Visit the merch table at any stop on the US tour
2. Take a selfie with the cardboard Stephin standee standing there
3. Post the pic to Instagram, Twitter, or Facebook with the hashtag #StephinStandee.

    Kronos Quartet's Album 'Pieces of Africa' Inducted Into National Recording Registry at Library of Congress

    Congratulations to Kronos Quartet, whose acclaimed 1992 Nonesuch album Pieces of Africa has been named one of twenty-five recordings to be inducted into the National Recording Registry at the Library of Congress for 2024. "It planted a seed for our work," Kronos founder and violinist David Harrington says of the album. "It's flowered so beautifully."
