As noted Monday in the Nonesuch Journal, Hardly Strictly Bluegrass, the free annual outdoor music festival held in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park, returns for its 11th run in the park's Speedway Meadow this September 30 through October 2. This year, the festival's organizers announced the line-up through a series of music medleys of confirmed acts over a number of weeks. The line-up is now out and, as expected, includes another stellar group of artists, among them several Nonesuch artists.

During the music-medley roll-out came the announcement of two Nonesuch artists familiar to those who have enjoyed Hardly Strictly before: Punch Brothers, who performed last year, and Emmylou Harris, who will have performed at each of the festival's 11 years. Added to the festival roster on Monday was The Low Anthem, who will be making their Hardly Strictly debut this year. (The group toured with Harris last fall and is featured on the digital bonus track of her new album Hard Bargain, joining Harris on their song “To Ohio.")

Now that the line-up has been revealed, one more Nonesuch artist can be added to the list of performers: Jessica Lea Mayfield, who made her Hardly Strictly debut in 2009. Mayfield launches her own late-summer tour tomorrow night in Buffalo, New York. As part of that tour, she and Punch Brothers share a double bill for a performance at the picturesque Belleayre Conservatory in the Catskill Mountains later this month.
