Congratulations to Jonny Greenwood, whose score for Paul Thomas Anderson's film There Will Be Blood has won the Ivor Novello Award for Best Original Film Score. The Ivors are awarded for outstanding achievement to British songwriters and composers. The awards, now in their 54th year, are presented annually by BASCA, the British Academy of Songwriters, Composers, and Authors, at Grosvenor House in London.

The film, which earned Daniel Day Lewis an Oscar for Best Actor, and its soundtrack, on Nonesuch, were released in late 2007. Greenwood and his score were subsequently awarded top music honors at the 2008 Berlin International Film Festival and from the Austin Film Critics, the Las Vegas Film Critics, the San Diego Film Critics, the Broadcast Film Critics, the Online Film Critics, and the Evening Standard British Film Awards.
