"Though the exact day is not known, it was fifteen years ago that Lake Street Dive became a band," says Rachael Price. "McDuck wrote our name on the chalkboard of a practice room and it was done. We didn’t know each other that well. We had zero idea of what kind of music we would play. We certainly didn’t know that fateful day marked the beginning of the longest platonic double date of my life. We have been through so much together ... Happy Fifteenth Bandiversary, y'all!"

Congratulations and happy fifteenth "bandiversary" to Lake Street Dive!

"Though the exact day is not known, it was fifteen years ago that Lake Street Dive became a band," writes bandmember Rachael Price on her Instagram. "McDuck wrote our name on the chalkboard of a practice room and it was done. We didn’t know each other that well. We had zero idea of what kind of music we would play. We certainly didn’t know that fateful day marked the beginning of the longest platonic double date of my life. We have been through so much together. We ran many a touring vehicle into the ground, we’ve helped each other do our taxes, we’ve played one ga-billion shows, we’ve made one ga-billion mistakes, we laugh. It’s not cliche y’all. We laughed so much. I love these people to the moon and beyond and we really hope someday to play on the moon. And how nice that will be with our wonderful new(ish) member Akie Bermiss who’s musicianship after all this time has sent us into the stratosphere. Happy Fifteenth Bandiversary, y'all!!"
