Laurie Anderson and her husband Lou Reed will curate a month of programming at the downtown New York venue The Stone this February. Anderson and Reed have collaborated a number of times with the venue's artistic director, John Zorn, and their curatorial skills are well known to anyone who attended this year's Vivid LIVE festival in Sydney, which the couple programmed, or who read of the much beloved Music for Dogs concert it featured.

The month's events include a special Valentine's Day duo by Anderson and Reed on February 15, a duo performance from Anderson and guitarist Fred Frith on the 23rd, as well as weekly Open House events every Sunday, in which visitors are invited "to hang out, drink great coffee, read, listen to unusual presentations and invent alternative ways to live and work." The Open Houses include presentations on a wide range of topics, from the history of boilers to, appropriately enough, teaching music to dogs.

"And the rest of the month isn't so bad either," says Brooklyn Vegan. "John Zorn, Bill Laswell, Hal Wilner, Ryuichi Sakamoto, Eyvind Kang, Sean Lennon, Rob Burger, Marc Ribot, Rob Wasserman, and many others adorn the schedule so far."
