The line-up for the 2016 Big Ears Festival has been announced, and featured among the performers are several artists familiar to readers of the Nonesuch Journal: Laurie Anderson and Philip Glass, Olivia Chaney, Sam Amidon, Nico Muhly, and Bombino. Big Ears will be held at venues throughout downtown Knoxville, Tennessee, March 31–April 2, 2016.

Laurie Anderson, who performed at Big Ears with Kronos Quartet this year, reunites with Philip Glass at the festival on Saturday, April 2, for the North American debut of the collaboration they first unveiled at the Ravello Festival in Italy this past summer. The soundtrack to Anderson's new film, Heart of a Dog, which opens theatrically at New York's Film Forum tomorrow, is out this Friday on Nonesuch.

London-based singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Olivia Chaney makes her own Big Ears Festival debut with a performance on Thursday, March 31, featuring music from her debut album, The Longest River, released earlier this year on Nonesuch Records.

The following day, Friday, April 1, Tuareg guitarist and singer Omara "Bombino" Moctar takes the Big Ears Festival stage with a set featuring music from his 2013 Dan Auerbach–produced album, Nomad, and more.

On the festival's closing day, Saturday, April 2, Sam Amidon, who performed songs from his new album, Lily-O at Big Ears this year, and Nico Muhly join producer/composer Valgeir Sigurðsson and Ben Frost for a celebration of the Icelandic record label/collective Bedroom Community.
