Laurie Anderson made the rounds of the BBC radio studios this week, as the Brighton Festival, of which she is Guest Director, got under way, and her new film, Heart of a Dog, was screened in London ahead of its UK and Irish cinematic run. She was the guest on BBC Radio 6 Music's Lauren Laverne program on Wednesday, in which she spoke about all of the above and shared the three life rules she and her late husband Lou Reed had devised; you can hear that conversation starting at two hours and eight minutes in at bbc.co.uk. She then spoke with BBC Radio 4's Front Row, also Wednesday, and BBC Radio 2's The Arts Show with Jonathan Ross on Thursday night.

Lauren Laverne was also host of a Q&A with Laurie Anderson at a screening of Heart of a Dog at London's Curzon Bloomsbury cinema, one of two screenings of the film on Wednesday—the other being at Picturehouse Central and open to both dogs and their companion humans. Anderson also took part in a Q&A at the Danish premiere of Heart of a Dog at the Grand Theatre in Copenhagen last night; she performs her Language of the Future at the Click Festival in Helsingør this coming Saturday. More at nonesuch.com/on-tour.

The Brighton Festival continues through May 29. Following the UK premiere of Anderson's Music for Dogs, a concert specially designed for dogs' ears, and a screening of Heart of a Dog, at the festival earlier this week, she will unveil an exclusive new performance monologue called Slideshow in Brighton on May 18 and Song Conversation, a freewheeling walk through sonic spaces, on May 17. The festival will also bring the UK premiere of the sound installation Lou Reed Drones. For details, visit brightonfestival.org.
