British singer/songwriter/guitarist Lianne La Havas closed out her brief headline tour of the United States this weekend with sold-out shows at the Roxy Theatre in West Hollywood, presented by KCRW, on Friday night (check out the crowd shot at left, via La Havas' Facebook page) and at Rickshaw Stop in San Francisco on Saturday. While in Los Angeles, La Havas stopped by the KCRW studios Friday morning for an appearance on Morning Becomes Eclectic, on which she discussed her debut album, Is Your Love Big Enough?, and performed a few songs off the album with her band. Her concert later that night would lead to a Los Angeles Times headline exclaiming: "Lianne La Havas stuns a sold-out Roxy." It was "a pitch-perfect performance," raves Times pop music critic Randall Roberts.

"La Havas is a British singer and electric guitarist with a range so broad as to render genre distinctions moot," Roberts explains. From the concert's opening notes, La Havas "delivered on the promise of her soulful, mature debut album, Is Your Love Big Enough? ... Hers is a music that over the course of 15 songs suggested a depth of influences, all of which magically combined to create something singularly La Havasian."

Roberts concludes of her Friday night show: "She was, to put it simply, fantastic," proving to be "a natural talent with boundless potential whose charisma is matched only by her musical prowess."
