She spoke with Lopate about her 35-year career in music, her social activism, and her new album, Paradise Is There: The New Tigerlily Recordings. Hear their conversation here. Natalie Merchant was a guest on the Leonard Lopate show on New York NPR member station WNYC today. She spoke with Lopate about her 35-year career in music, her social activism, and her new album, Paradise Is There: The New Tigerlily Recordings, released in November on Nonesuch Records. Paradise Is There features new recordings of the beloved songs of her multi-platinum solo debut album, Tigerlily, as they have evolved over two decades of live performance. Merchant will join Rolling Stone contributing editor Anthony DeCurtis in a conversation about her career at the 92nd Street Y in New York City tonight, also performing a selection of songs from Paradise Is There.     Congratulations to Kronos Quartet, whose acclaimed 1992 Nonesuch album Pieces of Africa has been named one of twenty-five recordings to be inducted into the National Recording Registry at the Library of Congress for 2024.
