Natalie Merchant and Carolina Chocolate Drops performed on the main stage of the 45th annual Cambridge Folk Festival—voted one of the Top 10 UK summer festivals by Songlines magazine—last summer to great acclaim from audiences and critics alike. The Guardian described Merchant's set as "in turn thoughtful, soulful and sensual," saying "Merchant was on classic form." The Carolina Chocolate Drops are touring across the United States now, offering a free presentation at the African American Museum of Iowa in Iowa City tonight in advance of their performance at the University of Iowa's Englert Theatre on Thursday.
