Natalie Merchant's performance at the Cambridge Folk Festival earlier this month will be featured on Sky Arts television's first program covering the festival, airing Saturday night in the UK. The show includes an interview with Natalie, as well as footage of her headline set, performing three songs off her recently release Nonesuch debut album, Leave Your Sleep: "The Peppery Man," "If No One Ever Marries Me," and "Adventures of Isabel." The program also includes an interview with Carolina Chocolate Drops and a performance from their Nonesuch debut, Genuine Negro Jig, and a performance from Rokia Traoré. Merchant's US tour makes two stops in Texas this weekend: at the Paramount Theatre in Austin tonight and the Verizon Wireless Theater in Houston on Saturday. The Houston Press previews the latter in an interview with Natalie at houstonpress.com.

The Arizona Republic, reviewing Merchant's show at the Dodge Theatre in Phoenix earlier this week, says "Merchant charmed a Phoenix audience with her most ambitious musical project yet," Leave Your Sleep.

The music "was impressive in a live setting," says reviewer Larry Rodgers. "Add some exemplary musicianship by band members plus Merchant's famed dance moves and hand gestures, and you end up with an evening of true artistry."

Rodgers goes on to say that Merchant "was in fine voice," concluding: "Her ambitious touring and recording project shows an artist who continues to evolve and push herself."
