Natalie Merchant will give her first UK performance in over seven years at Conway Hall in London November 16, showcasing material from her forthcoming Nonesuch debut. The previous Friday, Natalie will join the London Jazz Festival Orchestra at the Barbican for the London Jazz Festival's Opening Night; a week later, she'll perform at the Crossing Border festival in The Hague. This Friday, UK fans can catch Natalie on a special episode of BBC Two's Newsnight.

Natalie Merchant will give her first UK performance in over seven years on Monday, November 16, at Conway Hall in London. The date—An Evening with Natalie Merchant—will showcase material from her forthcoming Nonesuch album release, as well as selections from her celebrated 28-year career. Tickets are on sale now at livenation.co.uk.

On Friday, November 13, Natalie will also participate in the gala concert at the Barbican that marks the opening of this year's London Jazz Festival, performing with Guy Barker and the London Jazz Festival Orchestra. More information and tickets for that event are available at barbican.org.uk.

Following the Conway Hall solo event, Natalie heads to the Continent to perform at the Crossing Border festival in The Hague, Netherlands, on November 20. For information on that and all the festival's events, visit crossingborder.nl.

Natalie Merchant's new album is due for release in Spring 2010. It will be her first new studio recording in seven years and her first for Nonesuch Records.

This Friday, October 23, UK fans can catch Natalie on Newsnight, BBC Two's flagship current affairs program, starting at 10:30 PM GMT. For the episode, Newsnight is joining forces with Newsnight Review for a special 75-minute program live from New York City, marking the 80th anniversary of the 1929 Wall Street Crash. 

Presenter Kirsty Wark and a panel of guests, including English historian and Columbia University professor Simon Schama, will debate the political, economic, and cultural legacy of the crash, and the parallels with today's economic crisis.

And still more good news for UK fans: Celtic Connections, the 18-day, multi-venue Glasgow festival, has just announced that Natalie Merchant will be among the artists to perform this coming January. She'll be performing in the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall's Main Auditorium on January 28 with the Irish band Lúnasa. Also slated to perform at the festival are Ry Cooder, who'll be a special guest at The Chieftans' January 26 concert; Carolina Chocolate Drops, who'll play the Royal Concert Hall's Strathclyde Suite that night; and The Low Anthem, who are set to headline at the Old Fruitmarket on the 28th.
