The latest issue of BBC Music Magazine is on newsstands now, and featured inside are reviews of three new and recent Nonesuch Records releases from Steve Reich, John Adams, and Brad Mehldau Trio.

Steve Reich's Pulse / Quartet, released in February, earns a perfect five stars from BBC Music Magazine. The album includes the world-premiere recordings of Pulse, performed by the International Contemporary Ensemble, and Quartet, played by the Colin Currie Group. "[T]hese pieces radiate quiet wonder, lending them poignant weight," writes reviewer Helen Wallace. "What lingers are those moments of intoxicating hush."

The new recording of John Adams's Violin Concerto gets four stars from BBC Music Magazine. "John Adams's radiant Violin Concerto is at once playful and refined, complex and accessible, rhapsodic and tightly structured," exclaims reviewer Kate Wakeling. "The resultant work is expansively beautiful and this fine recording from Leila Josefowicz and the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra captures both the energy and lyricism of Adams's dazzling score."

Brad Mehldau Trio's new album, Seymour Reads the Constitution!, out this Friday, receives a four-star review from BBC Music Magazine. Mehldau "is a restless spirit, just recently contemplating Bach as a soloist, accompanying a mandolin playing .. singer and before that experimenting with electronica," says the magazine. "But he always comes back to the art of the trio ..."
