San Francisco's Golden Gate Park plays host to the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass festival this weekend, and several Nonesuch artists will be there performing at the 10th annual running of the free music gathering.

T Bone Burnett and Punch Brothers kick things off on the Rooster Stage with special guests Karen Elson and the Secret Sisters Friday evening. As announced earlier in the Nonesuch Journal, this is the first of three performances featuring Burnett and Punch Brothers. The Brooklyn-based quintet will join Burnett in two weeks for the famed producer's Speaking Clock Revue in Boston and New York.

Carolina Chocolate Drops are up next at Golden Gate Park this weekend with a Saturday afternoon set on Hardly Strictly's Banjo Stage. The San Francisco Chronicle recommends the set as one of "10 of the lesser-known acts on the bill that pack a big punch," insisting: you really don't want to miss their old-time take on Blu Cantrell's 2001 R&B hit, 'Hit 'Em Up Style,'" off the band's Nonesuch debut album, Genuine Negro Jig.

Closing out the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass festival with a big finish, Randy Newman takes to the Towers of Gold Stage Sunday afternoon, and Emmylou Harris, a familiar face at the festival, having performed there every year, takes the Banjo Stage later that night.
