On this long Memorial Day weekend in the US, Shawn Colvin and Sara Watkins are both joining Garrison Keillor and the cast of A Prairie Home Companion for two shows at the Filene Center at Wolf Trap in Vienna, Virgina, outside of Washington, DC. There's a live performance tonight, and a live broadcast performance Saturday evening, which can be heard on public radio stations across the US and streaming live online at prairiehome.org. Also joining for both shows is singer Heather Masse, plus, The Royal Academy of Radio Actors; Tim Russell, Sue Scott, and sound effects man Mr. Fred Newman, a trio of horns sits in with The Guy's All-Star Shoe Band, and the latest News from Lake Wobegon.
Watkins, one of the most frequent guests on A Prairie Home Companion (and its first-ever guest host), follows the fun of Lake Wobegon with a set at Delfest in Cumberland, Maryland, Sunday afternoon on the Potomac stage.

Laurie Anderson is on tour in Portugal, performing her latest piece, Dirtday!, at Teatro Cine in Torres Vedras tonight and at Teatro Virgínia in Torres Novas on Saturday. Boat, the first-ever New York exhibit of Anderson's paintings, opened earlier this month and continues at the Vito Schnabel gallery through June.

James Farm—the collaborative band featuring saxophonist Joshua Redman, pianist Aaron Parks, bassist Matt Penman, and drummer Eric Harland—close out a five-day tour of the Bay Area, Berkeley-born Redman's home turf, with a three-night residency at Yoshi's in Oakland, tonight, Saturday, and Sunday.

Kronos Quartet joins Philip Glass and conductor Michael Riesman are in the UK for a short tour of performances of Dracula, featuring Glass's original score for the 1931 horror film classic starring Bela Lugosi, performed with the film. (Nonesuch Records released the Kronos recording of the score in 1999.) This weekend's performances include tonight's show at Glasgow Royal Concert Hall and at the Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff on Sunday.
