The Black Keys close out their European summer tour with three festival sets this weekend: two in the UK—at the Leeds Festival tonight and the Reading Festival on Sunday—bookending a trip to Paris for Rock en Seine on Saturday. In today's Daily Mirror, the paper examines "how awesome American rockers The Black Keys have conquered the world."
Up next, the band performs a free set on the Great Lawn of New York's Central Park as part of the Global Poverty Project's Global Festival 2012 on September 29, which also includes music from Neil Young with Crazy Horse, Foo Fighters, Band of Horses, and K’Naan. The Festival celebrates achievements made towards eradicating extreme poverty. Tickets to the concert can be earned through the Global Citizen website.

Billy Bragg continues his tour of the UK summer festivals with three stops this weekend: at the Shambala Festival taking place at a secret location in the heart of the Northamptonshire countryside today, Solfest at the Tarnside Farm in Tarns on Saturday, and the Galtres Festival in Crayke on Sunday. Bragg's UK tour runs into September and features music from the Mermaid Avenue albums, for which Bragg and Wilco set the words of Woody Guthrie to music.

Pat Metheny brings his week-long Summer Music Workshop to a close today. The faculty for this year's workshop, held at The Spa at Norwich Inn in Norwich, Connecticut, includes Metheny, bassist Larry Grenadier, and drummer Antonio Sanchez.
Pat Metheny joins his Unity Band—featuring Chris Potter on sax and bass clarinet, Sanchez on drums, and Ben Williams on bass—to resume their US tour at the German House Theater in Rochester, New York, next Saturday, September 1.

Punch Brothers' performance of their song "Movement and Location" at the Hard Rock Calling festival in London's Hyde Park from this past July will be included in the show of festival highlights airing for the first time in the US on VH1 and Palladia Saturday night at 9 PM ET/PT and in an encore presentation in the UK on Sky Arts 1 HD Sunday at 12:45 AM. Among the other artists performing at this year's festival were Paul Simon, Tom Morello, Allison Krauss, Bruce Springsteen, and Paul McCartney.
