The Black Keys cap off release week for their new album, El Camino, with a performance at KROQ's Almost Acoustic Christmas at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Los Angeles on Sunday night. KROQ will be broadcasting live from the sold-out show, commercial-free and is hosting a live webcast from the event with uncut performances, backstage interviews, and more. Sunday's show caps off a week of live and televised performances celebrating the new album's release, including performances on Saturday Night Live, The Colbert Report, the Late Show with David Letterman, and in a special concert at New York's Webster Hall webcast on MTV Hive, which can be seen in earlier postings in this week's Nonesuch Journal.

Carolina Chocolate Drops close out their month-long US tour with two shows in Tennessee this weekend: at the Bijou Theatre in Knoxville, tonight, and the Mercy Lounge in Nashville on Saturday. Frazey Ford, of The Be Good Tanyas, opens both concerts.

Nonesuch Records wishes composer Elliott Carter a very Happy Birthday. He turns 103 years old on Sunday! In celebration of this very special occasion, a special portrait concert was presented at New York's 92nd Street Y last night, featuring two world premieres, and three US premieres of works by the ever-productive composer alongside six solos and duets composed between 1992 and 2009 for Carter's close musical friends. A third world premiere will take place in a concert by the Juilliard AXIOM Ensemble at Lincoln Center's Alice Tully Hall on Monday.

Nonesuch released a four-CD retrospective of Elliott Carter's work in honor of his 100th birthday, which the Observer described as a "covetable and historic" collection, is now 34% off SRP—bringing it just $19.78—as part of the Nonesuch Store's own fourth birthday sale on all CDs, LPs, and DVDs.

Jessica Lea Mayfield continues her North American tour in support of Ryan Adams with a performance at the Winter Garden Theatre in Toronto on Saturday, followed by a Sunday night set at the Cadillac Palace in Chicago on Sunday night. The tour comes to a close on Tuesday with a show at the State Theatre in Minneapolis.

Earlier this week, Mayfield was featured on a Daytrotter session, performing four songs from her Nonesuch debut album, Tell Me, which was included among the year's best albums according to American Songwriter magazine. Listen to the session at daytrotter.com.

As noted earlier today in the Nonesuch Journal, the family and friends of Kate & Anna McGarrigle gather once more to continue a holiday tradition with A Not So Silent Night, holiday concerts at the Théâtre St-Denis in Montreal this Sunday and The Town Hall in New York City on Thursday. The late Kate McGarrigle, who died last year from sarcoma, first established the tradition with the 2005 Nonesuch release of the album The McGarrigle Christmas Hour, which led to a succession of family holiday concerts. This time around, her children Rufus Wainwright and Martha Wainwright and her sister Anna lead a plethora of special guests like Lou Reed, Laurie Anderson, Teddy Thompson, and Loudon Wainwright III in these tribute concerts to Kate. Proceeds benefit the Kate McGarrigle Sarcoma Research Fund.

Sara Watkins and her brother Sean join the Blind Boys of Alabama for the group's Christmas show, Go Tell It on the Mountain, at Belly Up in Solana Beach, California, tonight. The Christmas shows continued out West for another week, until their final performance together a week from Sunday.
