While it may signal the unofficial end of summer here, it also brings with it lots of great live music around the world, including the three culminating nights of Brad Mehldau’s weeklong residency at the Village Vanguard in New York City—his first solo jazz performances in the city in since 2004—with two sets each night tonight through Sunday.

Also marking the end of summer across the Atlantic, The Magnetic Fields and Hurray for the Riff Raff and are both on the line-up for the End of the Road Festival at Larmer Tree Gardens in Dorset, England: The Magnetic Fields tonight and Hurray for the Riff Raff on Sunday. Both artists can also be found in the Rough Trade tent signing their albums on their respective days at the festival.
Both artists also continue their respective UK tours throughout the coming days: The Magnetic Fields at St George's Bristol tonight and at O2 Academy Glasgow on Monday. Hurray for the Riff Raff gets to Glasgow ahead of time, performing at St Luke’s there tonight, followed by stops at Brudenell Social Club in Leeds on Saturday and Clwb Ifor Bach in Cardiff on Monday.

Attacca Quartet begins a weeklong tour of Japan with a performance at Salvia Hall in Yokohama on Monday featuring Caroline Shaw’s Entr’acte, from their Grammy Award–winning album together, Orange, and works by Beethoven, Ravel, and more. Shaw and Attacca released “And So,” a new piece by Shaw from their upcoming album, Evergreen, earlier this week; you can watch the video here.
