Gaby Moreno performs as special guest of Fatoumata Diawara at The Town Hall in New York City tonight.
Moreno performed in New York City late last year to celebrate the release of her Nonesuch debut album, ¡Spangled!, a collaboration with Van Dyke Parks. She was joined by Metropolis Ensemble and LADAMA to perform songs from the album at Kaufman Music Center’s Merkin Hall; you can watch it here. The album is a "life-affirming collaboration,” says Metro. "Its very existence is a political statement ... joy as an act of resistance.”

Gabriel Kahane joins violinist Pekka Kuusisto at G Livelab in Helsinki, Finland, on Saturday. Kahane’s European tour concludes at Konservatoriets Koncertsal in Copenhagen on Tuesday.

Composer-performer Daniel Wohl’s fourteen-concert European tour as special guest of A Winged Victory for the Sullen, which began last night, continues at Funkhaus Berlin in Germany tonight.
Wohl's album État was released last year on New Amsterdam and Nonesuch Records. NPR Music calls it a “potent dreamscape of clicks, creaks, jagged interruptions, aching melodies and enough new sounds to keep the most tech-obsessed gear heads guessing,” adding that Wohl is “a sorcerer of electroacoustic sonorities.”

Yola takes her North American Walk Through Fire tour to California, at Great American Music Hall in San Francisco tonight, the Troubadour in Los Angeles for a sold-out show on Saturday, and Music Box in San Diego on Sunday. She concludes her winter headlining tour with a second sold-out show at the Troubadour next week, before hitting the road again in March with Chris Stapleton.
LA Weekly, in an interview with Yola ahead of Saturday’s show, says she “has elevated country-soul with a voice that’s supple, robust and majestic. Her delivery soars, then lands with a lusty and sometimes heartbroken presence.” You can read the interview here.
