A number of the nominated artists are in Los Angeles for Sunday’s awards ceremony, including Molly Tuttle, who performs at the MusiCares Persons of the Year tribute honoring Berry Gordy & Smokey Robinson at the Los Angeles Convention Center tonight and the Americanafest Pre-Grammy Salute to Lucinda Williams at The Troubadour on Saturday. The Black Keys are in town as well and spin records in a DJ set at Gold Diggers tonight to celebrate the release of The Arcs new album.

Nonesuch artists are making great live music both in the US and around the world this weekend, including Sam Amidon, who joins Bonny Light Horseman as their special guest in a sold-out show at Brudenell Social Club in Leeds, England, on Saturday. Amidon and the band continue their UK tour together with shows in Manchester and London next week.

Julia Bullock—who was featured in a Los Angeles Times piece titled “How Julia Bullock Became an Essential Soprano for Our Times,” ahead of her performance in John Adams’ Girls of the Golden West with the Los Angeles Philharmonic last weekend—joins fellow soprano Louise Toppin and pianist Christian Reif for a performance of 1930s jazz and blues at New World Symphony’s Truist Pavilion in Miami tonight.

Makaya McCraven is at Schermerhorn Symphony Center in Nashville on Sunday to perform music from his new album, In These Times. In These Times, released in September on International Anthem / Nonesuch / XL Recordings, made several year's best album lists, including those of Pitchfork ("a high-water mark for [his] technique"), NPR Music's Nate Chinen ("the culmination of a years-long experiment in groove ... just might be Makaya McCraven's manifesto"), and Treble ("McCraven's masterwork").

Mandy Patinkin continues his Being Alive tour with pianist Adam Ben-David at Playhouse on Rodney Square in Wilmington, Delaware on Saturday. The concert is a collection of many of Patinkin’s favorite Broadway and classic American tunes, from Irving Berlin and Cole Porter to Stephen Sondheim and Harry Chapin.
