Guitarist/composer Mary Halvorson performs songs from her just-released Nonesuch debut albums, Amaryllis and Belladonna, with the musicians who perform with her on the albums—Mivos Quartet, Patricia Brennan (vibraphone), Nick Dunston (bass), Tomas Fujiwara (drums), Jacob Garchik (trombone), and Adam O’Farrill (trumpet)—at Jimmy's Jazz and Blues Club in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, tonight and at Festival International Musique Actuelle Victoriaville in Quebec on Saturday.

Gabriel Kahane began the second leg of his tour featuring music from his new album, Magnificent Bird, this week and continues with concerts at Constellation in Chicago on Saturday and at Kerrytown Concert House in Ann Arbor on Sunday. The tour concludes with concerts in Nashville and Columbus next week. Mojo calls Magnificent Bird "a most eloquent exploration of our current lot." The San Francisco Chronicle calls it "a gorgeous, intimate collection ... glistening and magical."

Caroline Shaw and Attacca Quartet perform works by Shaw at Swarovski Kristallwelten in Wattens, Austria, tonight as part of Musik im Riesen.
