Pat Metheny begins a US tour with drummer Antonio Sánchez, pianist Gwilym Simcock, and bassist Linda Oh with Opening Night/Week concerts of SFJAZZ Center's 2016–17 concert season, tonight and through the weekend. They perform five more shows in California, including a concert at UCLA's Royce Hall and a set at the Monterey Jazz Festival; two in Colorado; a stop in Kansas; and two in Metheny's home state of Missouri. The musicians will tour the East Coast in early 2017.
Pat Metheny begins a two-week tour of the West and Midwest United States with drummer Antonio Sánchez, pianist Gwilym Simcock, and bassist Linda Oh with the Opening Night and Opening Week concerts of SFJAZZ Center’s 2016–17 concert season, starting tonight and continuing through the weekend, at Miner Auditorium in San Francisco. They perform five more shows in California, including a concert at Royce Hall in Los Angeles and a set at the Monterey Jazz Festival; two in Colorado; a stop in Kansas; and two in Metheny's home state of Missouri.

Metheny first toured with this group over the summer, for dates in Europe and the UK. It was met with rave reviews, with the Guardian giving this "tour de force from an improv king" four stars. "The rapport within this newly minted band was unmistakable."
