Philip Selway, whose new digital EP, Running Blind, was released last month on Nonesuch Records, will be the guest on Soundcheck from NPR member station WNYC tomorrow afternoon. Selway will talk with host John Schaefer and perform songs from the new EP and his solo debut album, Familial, released on Nonesuch last year. Tune in on the radio at 93.9 FM in New York City at online around the world at wnyc.org. The show airs live Friday at 2 PM ET and again at 10 PM ET.

When Selway wrote the songs that formed Familial, he kept back a handful that he felt worked best as a separate piece of work; these now comprise the new digital EP, Running Blind. The songs evolved during Selway’s live shows supporting Familial, and he subsequently returned to the studio to record them with his band. While in New York City, Selway will also work in a few gigs with his band, Radiohead. The group will play two shows at Roseland Ballroom next Wednesday and Thursday, September 28 and 29. Also on Monday, Selway and the band will be featured on an special hour-long episode of The Colbert Report on Comedy Central. This weekend, they will be the musical guests on the season opener of Saturday Night Live, hosted by Alec Baldwin; tune in this Saturday, September 24, at 11:30 PM ET on NBC.
