Dan Auerbach's US tour, featuring music from Keep It Hid, his recent Nonesuch solo debut, continues tonight at Wonder Ballroom in Portland, Oregon.

The Portland Mercury recommends the show, expecting that Dan and openers Hacienda, who also serve as his backing band, "will give us a rock 'n' roll show of the highest order." The Mercury says Dan's new record "uncovers new corners of his talents. It's an instant classic ..."

Portland's Willamette Week features an article on Dan and the new record, which writer Katrina Nattress says "returns to the raw, blues-influenced rock that put the [Black] Keys on the map." Nattress praises the album's "sincerity and genuineness" and writes that it "feels like old Black Keys records backed by a full band. Auerbach’s poignant, emotionally charged lyrics and precise guitar work shine on songs like the unforgiving 'Heart Broken, In Disrepair.'" Read more at wweek.com.

Dan was in Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minnesota, last weekend to perform at First Avenue and stopped by the studios of Minnesota Public Radio's The Current.

He spoke with Steve Seel and performed three songs off the new record. "Dan Auerbach wants to make records like RZA of the Wu Tang Clan," reports Seel. "Like RZA, Auerbach takes his influences and feeds them into music except he takes it into another direction to make his gritty, soulful blues on his new solo album Keep It Hid."
