Punch Brothers have just returned home to the United States after a week in Europe that included five-star reviews for their shows in London and Glasgow. As Punch Brothers prepare to launch its US tour in Baton Rouge with Loudon Wainwright III this Friday, they have just added another string of East Coast dates in April, including stops in New York City, Philadelphia, DC, Atlanta, Nashville, and more. Punch Brothers have just returned home to the United States after a week in Europe that saw the band perform a headlining gig in London the Times, in a five-star review, described as "brilliant, audacious, original and, above all, entertaining"; several sold-out shows with Amos Lee; and a set at Celtic Connections in Glasgow with label mates Carolina Chocolate Drops to which The Scotsman gave five stars as well.
As Punch Brothers prepare to launch their North American tour in Baton Rouge with Loudon Wainwright III this Friday, they have just added another string of new East Coast dates in April. Starting with a Mountain Stage concert in Morgantown, West Virginia, on April 15, this new leg include stops in New York City, Philadelphia, DC, Atlanta, Nashville, and more. Mountain Stage is on-sale now, and tickets for most of these newly added dates go on sale this weekend. The band's new album, Who's Feeling Young Now?, due out February 14 on CD and March 30 on vinyl, is available to pre-order now in the Nonesuch Store. Kronos Quartet has announced its ninth-annual Kronos Festival, to take place at SFJAZZ Center, June 20–23, 2024. The festival marks the ensemble’s milestone 50th Anniversary year and the farewell performances of John Sherba and Hank Dutt, members of Kronos Quartet for more than 45 years. It will feature a slate of world and Bay Area premieres commissioned as part of the KRONOS Five Decades season; several guest artists; and the final performance of A Thousand Thoughts, a live documentary chronicling the quartet’s career, written and directed by Sam Green and Joe Bini.
Timo Andres joins Alarm Will Sound in Steve Reich's Music for 18 Musicians in College Park and Philadelphia. Cécile McLorin Salvant premieres new piece at 92NY in NYC, where The Magnetic Fields play 69 Love Songs at The Town Hall. Sam Amidon plays with Laura Veirs in Portland and Shahzad Ismaily in Seattle. Hurray for the Riff Raff is in Texas for shows in Fort Worth, Austin, and Houston, where Kronos Quartet live-scores Sam Green's documentary about them. Nathalie Joachim is in Columbus.
