Punch Brothers are set to support legendary singer-songwriter Paul Simon on tour of the United States South and Midwest this November. The nearly three-week tour starts in New Orleans on Friday, November 4, and runs through Wednesday, November 23, the day before Thanksgiving, in Akron, Ohio. Punch Brothers will give audiences a preview of what's to come when they open for Ray LaMontagne at two shows this week: in New York City's Central Park tonight and at Stage AE in Pittsburgh tomorrow night. This coming weekend, the band hits San Francisco to perform at Hardly Strictly Bluegrass, the free festival in Golden Gate Park, which will also see sets from label mates The Low Anthem, Jessica Lea Mayfield, and perennial Hardly Strictly favorite Emmylou Harris.

This week's performances follow Chris Thile's recent solo tour of the UK and Ireland. Thile also performed a special duo set with label mate Brad Mehldau at London's Wigmore Hall, to which the Guardian and Financial Times both gave four-star reviews.
