The Low Anthem continues its cross-country tour with Blind Pilot at The Parish in Austin, Texas, tonight, as news is in that Q magazine has named the band's Nonesuch debut, Oh My God, Charlie Darwin, one of the year's Top 50 albums.

After last weekend's tour stop at the Casbah in San Diego, the San Diego News Network suggests that "high praise" is in order for the band. And previewing last night's show in Dallas, the Dallas Observer concludes that such praise is well earned, as the new album, "quite simply, is a remarkably beautiful record, an album deserving of all the critical kudos."

Yesterday also saw the release of the band's recording of Bob Dylan's "Dignity" as Magnet magazine's MP3 at 3PM. Magnet calls the new album "gorgeous" and offers the song as a free download at magnetmagazine.com.

Tomorrow night, the tour heads out of Texas and into Louisiana for a Friday night set at the Spanish Moon in Baton Rouge. That city's Tigerweekly talks with band member Jeff Prystowsky about the record and all the acclaim that has come with it. Tigerweekly's Kristina Stafford writes: "Sometimes, when searching through the multitudes of music, a rare gem comes along—a band that sparkles and shines with talent, ambition, and showmanship. The Low Anthem, a Rhode Island-based trio, has that something special."

She goes on to praise "well-balanced tones and riveting lyrics" of the band's work, concluding: "The sincerity of each song tugs at the heart strings. They have a pure sound that is rare in today's music world."
