Singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Rhiannon Giddens joined Iron & Wine singer, songwriter, and guitarist Sam Beam on NBC tonight for a performance of Bob Dylan's "Forever Young" on the series finale of Parenthood, "May God Bless and Keep You Always." Dylan's recording, from the 1974 album Planet Waves, has been the show's theme song since it first aired in 2010. The new version by Giddens and Iron & Wine, which they played at the show's Luncheonette recording studio during the episode and was produced by Joe Henry, is available digitally from Nonesuch Records on iTunes and in the Nonesuch Store. Rhiannon Giddens, founding member of Grammy Award-winning Carolina Chocolate Drops, makes her solo recording debut with Tomorrow Is My Turn, due out February 10 on Nonesuch Records. The album was produced by T Bone Burnett. Giddens gave a memorable solo performance at a 2013 Burnett-curated Town Hall concert that was later broadcast on Showtime, Another Day, Another Time: Celebrating the Music of "Inside Llewyn Davis," and also worked with the producer on Lost on the River: The New Basement Tapes, setting recently discovered Dylan lyrics to new music; a documentary about the making of that album also aired on Showtime.

Iron & Wine, the pen name of Sam Beam, most recently released the critically acclaimed Ghost on Ghost on Nonesuch in 2013. Beam is now beginning an archival release series on his own label, pulling from tapes found in the back corners of closets and dusty shoe boxes to gather previously unreleased home recordings, covers, and live sets from his entire career. The first in a series of releases will be Archive Series Volume No. 1, available on February 24.
