Sam Amidon has announced a fall tour of North America, in support of his latest album, The Following Mountain. The tour starts at the Fremont Abbey Arts Center in Seattle on September 23 and continues with stops in Portland, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Denver, Milwaukee, Chicago, Toronto, DC, and Philadelphia, before culminating with a performance at New York City’s Mercury Lounge on October 10. He has also added new Scandinavian dates on his previously announced European tour.

Sam Amidon, who performed in Brooklyn's Prospect Park on Saturday as part of the Celebrate Brooklyn! festival, has announced a fall tour of North America, in support of his latest album, The Following Mountain. The tour starts at the Fremont Abbey Arts Center in Seattle on September 23 and continues with stops in Portland, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Denver, Milwaukee, Chicago, Toronto, DC, and Philadelphia, before culminating with a performance at New York City’s Mercury Lounge on October 10.

The Following Mountain was released earlier this year via Nonesuch Records. The London Evening Standard gives the album four stars, praising its “captivating arrangements and elegiac charm.” The Irish Times gives it four stars as well, calling it “breathtaking … a fascinating signpost to the future.”

"It planted a seed for our work," Kronos founder and violinist David Harrington says of the album. "It's flowered so beautifully."
