Sara Watkins and her brother Sean were featured on NPR's Folk Alley over the holiday week. On the show, Sara spoke with Folk Alley host Jim Blum about the many projects she has been working on since the siblings' early years performing with Chris Thile in Nickel Creek, including her tour with and frequent performances on A Prairie Home Companion with Garrison Keillor and working with Led Zeppelin bassist John Paul Jones on her self-titled Nonesuch debut album from 2009. Speaking of A Prairie Home Companion, Watkins has just announced that she will be guest-hosting the beloved public radio show, broadcast live from the Fitzgerald Theater in Saint Paul, Minnesota, on Saturday, January 15. For more information, visit prairiehome.org.

Among the many other projects on which Sara has been involved lately are performances of Much Ado About Nothing, featuring music by Lyle Lovett, presented by the Shakespeare Center of Los Angeles, at the Kirk Douglas Theatre, which just came to a close.

More live music making is on the way as Sara Watkins joins The Decemberists for an extensive world tour that launches at the end of the month with three nights at the Beacon Theatre in New York City.
