Sara Watkins will join Garrison Keillor and the cast of A Prairie Home Companion on another cross-country US tour this summer for the Radio Romance Tour. Watkins will join the popular radio host and his pals on the Northeast leg of their tour, starting with a July 27 concert in Bangor, Maine, followed by shows in New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, Vermont, and upstate New York, and closing with three shows in Michigan. See below for all of Watkins' currently scheduled dates; for ticket links, visit nonesuch.com/on-tour.

The Radio Romance Tour includes two hours of duet singing as well as comedian Fred Newman, Rich Dworsky and The Guy’s All-Star Shoe Band with guitarist Pat Donohue and violinist/mandolinist Richard Kriehn, absurd improv with sound effects, Guy Noir Private Eye, poetry, outright foolishness, and the News from Lake Wobegon.

Sara Watkins joined Keillor and crew on their inaugural Summer Love Tour in 2010 and again for its second run in 2011. She has been one of the most frequent guest artists on the Prairie Home Companion radio show on American Public Media. Not only that, but Garrison Keillor offered Watkins the unprecedented opportunity to host an entire show, the first time he’d entrusted another artist with his job. As Keillor put it, “For once in my life, I want to stand in the back of the hall and watch for a few minutes. And Sara is a smart and funny and hugely gifted young woman.”

Watkins recently concluded a month-long headline tour of the United States and kicks off the West Coast leg in May. She joins Jackson Browne as the special guest on his US acoustic tour this summer. She and her brother Sean lead the latest edition of the Watkins Family Hour at the Largo in Los Angeles this Thursday, April 11.

Sun Midnight Sun, Sara Watkins' latest album, was release last year on Nonesuch Records. To pick up a copy, head to the Nonesuch Store, where CD and vinyl orders include a download of the complete album at checkout. Watkins recently performed the album track "You and Me" for CMT Edge; you can watch that performance here:
