The 2010 South by Southwest Music + Film + Interactive Conference & Festivals, or, more simply, SXSW, is set to get under way March 12 through 21 in Austin, Texas. A number of Nonesuch artists—The Low Anthem, Christina Courtin, and the Carolina Chocolate Drops—have already been tapped to perform at the many concerts, showcases, and parties scheduled for the week-plus that these creative worlds converge.

The Low Anthem is on board for the official Rolling Stone party, the Paste magazine party, the HearYA Day party, a set at St. David's Sanctuary, and a show at Hotel San Jose for SX San Jose. Christina Courtin is also due to play at St. David's on Wednesday, March 17, taking the stage just before Suzanne Vega. And Carolina Chocolate Drops are slated to play the ASCAP showcase at The Driskill's Victorian Room on Thursday, March 18. And now, as Pitchfork reported earlier today, SXSW will screen a new concert film that follows David Byrne on his 2008-09 tour The Songs of David Byrne & Brian Eno. The film Ride, Rise, Roar captures the action on stage and off from a tour that paired modern dance with music from throughout the decades of Byrne and Eno collaborations, including Talking Heads classics and the pair's groundbreaking 1981 album My Life in the Bush of Ghosts. Given the polymath nature of its subject, it's no surprise that the film will screen during each of the festival's segments (interactive/film/music), March 15, 18, and 20.
