The Black Keys Announce European Summer Tour; Watch Them Perform on "Le Grand Journal"
The Black Keys, fresh on the heels of a winter tour of Europe and in the lead-up to the launch of their North American arena tour next month, have announced a new run of European dates for this summer. The tour includes several sets at favorite summer festivals—Way Out West, Øya, Flow, Lowlands, and Highfield—as well as headlining shows in Copenhagen and Dublin. While in Europe this time around, the band stopped by the Canal Plus studios in Paris last night to perform the song "Lonely Boy" off of their latest Nonesuch album, El Camino, for Le Grand Journal. Watch the performance below.
Fans in Germany can catch the band on Die Harald Schmidt Show tonight on Sat1 at 11:15 PM, and they’ll be featured in a special edition of the Zane Lowe show on BBC Radio 1 in the UK tomorrow evening, including a half-hour live set from the band. Fans around the world can tune in to that starting at 7 PM GMT on bbc.co.uk.
The Black Keys brought their recent European tour to a close with three sold-out concerts at Alexandra Palace in London last week and weekend. The Evening Standard gives the show four stars. "In our era of airbrushing and auto-tuning, the Ohio duo are a definitive argument for keeping things rugged and real." Read the four-star concert review at thisislondon.co.uk. The Sun, in a capsule review from editor Gordon Smart, says the band "filled the venue with their tight, loud rock/blues. 'Howlin' For You' was extraordinary and 'Gold On The Ceiling' mesmerising.
