The Black Keys, who are currently in the midst of their North American arena tour with special guests Arctic Monkeys, have announced several new arena shows out West for this October. The new leg of the tour includes stops throughout California, including the Staples Center in Los Angeles and the famed Santa Barbara Bowl, and in Arizona and New Mexico. Tegan and Sara join the tour as support. See below for all of the newly announced dates. Concert tickets and album packages are available at the band’s site, theblackkeys.com. The Black Keys are teaming up with Tickets-for-Charity to offer fans access to some of the best seats in the house. Proceeds will benefit Community Support Services in Akron, OH and W.O. Smith Music School in Nashville, TN. Additionally, to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the band’s first album The Big Come Up, iTunes will make the record available for $5.99 for one week beginning May 15.

The Black Keys play the final Canadian show of the current leg of the tour tonight's performance at the MTS Centre in Winnipeg. (The band returns to play Toronto's Molson Canadian Amphitheatre and the Osheaga Festival in Montreal in August.) Tonight's show—you can see the poster at left, designed by Jessica Seamans & Dan Black at Landland—follows concerts in Calgary and Edmonton over the weekend.

The Calgary Sun gives the concert four stars. And noting the band's recent success following the Nonesuch release of their albums Brothers and El Camino, Calgary Herald's Mike Bell reports: "The Keys proved heavily, proudly, brashly and bullishly that the upward climb has not only been warranted, but it’s actually added to their value and made them even that much better." Friday's show at Calgary's Scotiabank Saddledome was an "early entry into gig of the year," says Bell. "[T]he Dome has never, ever sounded as good as it did last night. Simply immaculate. Simply spine-tingling, nipple-tweaking, head-smacking. Simply fantastic."

The Edmonton Journal's says Saturday's show at Rexall Place was a welcome return to the hall from the band. "Eleven months after their first visit to Rexall Place, the newly minted arena-rock superstars treated 11,000 fans to a second spellbinding show of fuzzy guitar riffs and soulful grooves on Saturday night," says the Journal's Sandra Sperounes.
