The Black Keys' European tour, which got under way last week, brought the band to Germany for two shows over the weekend, at Sporthalle in Hamburg on Friday and at Berlin's Treptow Arena on Saturday. MTV News caught up with the band in Berlin on Saturday and stayed to enjoy the show.

"Drawing heavily from their breakout Brothers album and the equally successful El Camino," reports MTV's James Montgomery, "the duo, aided by backing band for extra oomph, tore through 90-plus minutes of sweaty, snarling stuff, a full-bore workout for their triumphant run of U.S. arena shows, which kicks off in March."

Saturday's set was "positively devoured by the German crowd," says Montgomery, and the band, keeping the focus firmly on the music, did not disappoint.

"The Black Keys may not be big on making speeches, but they don't have to be," he writes. "On most nights—this one included, far from home but still swaggering—they get by on raw power alone."

The Black Keys' European tour continues with a show at the Alcatraz in Milan tonight, followed by stops in Switzerland and the Netherlands before heading up to the UK for a full seven shows there.
