Congratulations to Thomas Newman, winner of the 2010 Classical BRIT Award for Soundtrack of the Year for his score to the film Revolutionary Road. Newman was in attendance to receive the award at the ceremony at Royal Albert Hall in London.

Congratulations to Thomas Newman, winner of the 2010 Classical BRIT Award for Soundtrack of the Year for his score to the film Revolutionary Road, starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet. Newman was in attendance to receive the award at the ceremony held last night at the Royal Albert Hall in London. It will be broadcast in the UK on ITV1 this Tuesday, May 18.

This year marks the 11th annual BRIT Awards, which recognize the best in the world of classical music and Britain’s place as a leading voice in the field. It was the first time a prize was awarded for best soundtrack. The two other nominees in the category were Alexandre Desplat's score for The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and Michael Giacchino's for Star Trek.
