The Black Keys were in New Orleans on Friday for the city's 2009 Voodoo Music Experience, the 11th running of the weekend festival. While the weather didn't cooperate, bringing a cold rain to the City Park festivities just as Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney took to the stage, the set was far from a wash-out.

"Auerbach and Carney rewarded the hearty souls who stood in the rain with a ferocious set," says the Times-Picayune's Keith Spera. "Auerbach alternated dive-bomb slide guitar with bulldozer chords; imagine Jimmy Page recording a more primal 'Communication Breakdown' in his garage—while very angry. 'I Got Mine' slammed the door on the set, damn the torpedoes (and the rain)." Read more at nola.com.

Creative Loafing's Jeff Hahne concurs that, even with the cold rain, "the Keys definitely heated it up for their hour-long set. They left the stage smoldering after ending with 'I Got Mine.'
