Emmylou Harris and her band performed songs from her forthcoming album, Hard Bargain, at the El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles last night, with singer/songwriter Ryan Adams offering a surprise guest opening set. There's more music-making in store on Tuesday, the album's release day, when Harris and the band perform at Bowery Ballroom in New York City, with another surprise special guest in store.

Earlier this week, Harris appeared on the Tavis Smiley show on PBS to discuss the new album, her childhood, her career in music, the dog rescue that is near and dear to her heart, and much more. You can now watch the show below, via pbs.org.
