Pat Metheny's new album, What's It All About, includes Metheny's solo-guitar take on the Beatles classic "And I Love Her." The video, which premiered on MSN yesterday, is now available here. "The Beatles were huge for me," Metheny says. "Without them, I don't know if I even would have become a musician or a guitar player ... It is kind of impossible to imagine doing a record like this without including at least one Beatles song."
Pat Metheny's new album, What's It All About, was released earlier this week on Nonesuch Records. MSN Music, which continues to stream the album in full via its Listening Booth, premiered the video of Metheny performing the classic Beatles tune "And I Love Her," which appears on the record, yesterday. "The Beatles were huge for me," Metheny says in discussing the inclusion of "And I Love Her" on the new record. "Without them, I don't know if I even would have become a musician or a guitar player. When their hits started coming out, I was eight and nine years old, and it had a tremendous impact on me. I saw the movie A Hard Day's Night multiple times when it came out, and I always loved that song. It is kind of impossible to imagine doing a record like this without including at least one Beatles song."
