The Low Anthem is set to launch its six-week tour supporting City and Colour, aka Canadian singer-songwriter Dallas Green, on his tour of Canada and the northern US starting this coming Monday, January 16, at Wonder Ballroom in Portland, Oregon. The Low Anthem will also be performing a few select headlining shows in the weeks ahead, including stops in Urbana, Illinois; Buffalo, New York; and Portsmouth, New Hampshire. See below for all of the dates and head to nonesuch.com/on-tour for additional information and links.
The Low Anthem closed out its fall tour with a performance at the Somerville Theatre outside of Boston in October. While there, the group took some time to perform a couple of songs—"Ghost Woman Blues" off their latest Nonesuch release, Smart Flesh, and a tune off their self-released debut—for Sleepover Shows, the Boston-based site that features acoustic or stripped-down performances of their favorite bands. (Label mates Carolina Chocolate Drops performed a set for the site at the Newport Folk Festival last year; watch it here.)
"If you have not been to a Low Anthem show, you owe it to yourself to go," writes the site. "A few months ago we caught them opening for Iron and Wine at the House of Blues in Boston and they managed to transform the large hall into what seemed like a hushed living room."
