Carolina Chocolate Drops' video for the track "Country Girl," which premiered earlier this week on CMT.com, is now available via the band's YouTube channel. The song is from the Carolina Chocolate Drops’ new album, Leaving Eden, released earlier this year on Nonesuch Records. Carolina Chocolate Drops' video for the track "Country Girl," which premiered earlier this week on CMT.com, is now available via the band's YouTube channel. The song is from the band’s new album, Leaving Eden, released earlier this year on Nonesuch Records. Leaving Eden, the group’s follow-up to their lauded label debut—2010’s Grammy Award-winning Genuine Negro Jig—is a record of original compositions, covers, and traditional songs produced by Buddy Miller (Emmylou Harris, Robert Plant, Solomon Burke). In case you missed the premiere earlier this week, check out the "Country Girl" video, directed by Thomas Ciaburri, below and at nonesuch.com/media.

The Chocolate Drops are continuing their North American tour throughout the summer, including a run of shows with the Dave Matthews Band. The tour takes the band to Virginia for three shows, starting with a concert at the Birchmere in Alexandria tomorrow night, followed by a Friday Cheers set on Brown's Island in Richmond, and a show at the Theater at Lime Kiln in Lexington a week from Sunday.     Congratulations to Kronos Quartet, whose acclaimed 1992 Nonesuch album Pieces of Africa has been named one of twenty-five recordings to be inducted into the National Recording Registry at the Library of Congress for 2024. "It planted a seed for our work," Kronos founder and violinist David Harrington says of the album. "It's flowered so beautifully."
