Chris Thile gave a nod to his Nonesuch label mate David Byrne when he performed the Talking Heads' tune "(Nothing But) Flowers" on Live From Here last weekend, along with special guests Maggie Rogers, Sarah Jarosz, Vulfpeck, and Punch Brothers banjoist Noam Pikelny. Watch it here. Caetano Veloso offered his own take on the song on his 2004 album, A Foreign Sound, and again, this time with Byrne, on their 2012 album, Live at Carnegie Hall.

Chris Thile gave a nod to his Nonesuch label mate David Byrne when he and the Live From Here band performed the Talking Heads' tune "(Nothing But) Flowers" on last weekend's episode of the public radio show. They were joined by special guests Maggie Rogers and Sarah Jarosz on backing vocals, members of the band Vulfpeck, and Punch Brothers banjoist Noam Pikelny to put the Live From Here spin on the classic song with additional help from the audience at The Town Hall in New York City—and probably more than a few listeners on the other end of the radio. Another Nonesuch artist, Caetano Veloso, offered his own take on "(Nothing But) Flowers" on his 2004 English-language album, A Foreign Sound.

And Veloso revisited the song, this time with David Byrne joining him, for their 2012 album together, Live at Carnegie Hall.

Live From Here returns to The Town Hall this Saturday with special guests St. Vincent, Jon Batiste, Nickel Creek bandmate Sara Watkins, and Pikelny, and again the following Saturday with special guests Gaby Moreno, The Knights, and comedian Jim Breuer.
