Conor Oberst capped off a week celebrating the release of his new album, Upside Down Mountain, with an appearance on CBS This Morning: Saturday. He was backed by the band Dawes to perform two tracks from the new album: “Hundreds of Ways” and “You Are Your Mother’s Child.” You can watch both, as well as a web-exclusive performance of “Time Forgot” below. Oberst’s tour with Dawes as special guests continues in the Midwest this week.

Conor Oberst capped off a week celebrating the release of his new album, Upside Down Mountain, with an appearance on CBS This Morning: Saturday. He was backed by the band Dawes, who are joining him as special guests on his current tour, to perform two tracks from the new album: “Hundreds of Ways” and “You Are Your Mother’s Child.” You can watch both songs, as well as a web-exclusive performance of the album track “Time Forgot,” below.

Oberst’s tour with Dawes continues at the Taft Theatre in Cincinnati tonight, followed by two sold-out nights at Metro in Chicago, a stop at the Pabst Theater in Milwaukee, two shows at First Avenue in Minneapolis, and a return to his hometown of Omaha for a show at Sokol Auditorium next week.     Congratulations to Kronos Quartet, whose acclaimed 1992 Nonesuch album Pieces of Africa has been named one of twenty-five recordings to be inducted into the National Recording Registry at the Library of Congress for 2024. "It planted a seed for our work," Kronos founder and violinist David Harrington says of the album. "It's flowered so beautifully."
