When Lianne La Havas was in New York City last month to celebrate the Nonesuch Records release of her debut album, Is Your Love Big Enough?, she stopped by New York public radio station WFUV's Studio A to record an episode of Words and Music, which is now available. La Havas talks with WFUV's Alisa Ali about her life in music, her new album, meeting Prince, and much more. She also performs a few of the album's songs live in the studio: "Is Your Love Big Enough?," "Age," and "Tease Me." Lianne La Havas has been shortlisted for the prestigious Mercury Prize for Is Your Love Big Enough?. The 2012 winner will be announced this Thursday, November 1. La Havas returns to the US next week and will make her debut performance on the Late Show with David Letterman on November 8; she appears for the first time on Conan the following week, on November 14. She gives three headlining shows in the US: November 11 at the Washington, DC–area Birchmere Theatre, November 16 at Los Angeles’ Roxy Theatre, and November 17 at San Francisco’s Rickshaw Stop.
